Hamlin Lake at Ludington State Park in Michigan

I walked through the park, down through the woods and along the trail.  I crossed bridges, sketching and photographing.  Everywhere I looked there were dramatic landscapes and seascapes, pleasing to the artist’s eye.  The reflections in the water, the movement of the wind through the trees, the sunlight and shadows, made the process of painting this a challenging and memorable and experience.  I hope my interpretation of this scene gives you this same exhilaration I felt when I first saw it.
